Beautiful day for a south-to-north traverse of the Moats.
Dugway Road to South Moat: Well traveled. Spikes.
South to Middle to North: Snowshoes! An old track part of the way but lots of trail breaking and some route finding. Scrambles after Red Ridge Trail junction were interesting. There was some tree grabbing.
North Moat to Attitash Trail: Deep, unbroken snow, sinking well over a foot, even in snowshoes. (We did meet 3 barebooters coming up… ugh.)
Attitash Trail junction to West Side Road: Well traveled. Bareboots or spikes. Lots of people at Diana’s Bath. |
