 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The cabin has a fresh coat of paint and no longer smells of mice pee. The old Mount Cabot trail sign grew legs and moved a half mile(someone also broke the bottom half of it). It's well in the woods, nowhere near the trail. I only saw it chagga hunting. The Cabot summit sign has been stolen, as well as the bunnell notch <-- sign on the old logging road has also disappeared |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Professor Biscuits and his human sidekick where out today. Also a Husky who I honestly thought was Ghost, Jon Snow's Dire Wolf. He was so large you could have put a saddle on him, without hyperbole. Though his owner did not look anything like Tormund Giantsbane. |

 | Bugs: |

 | Lost and Found: |
A large hillsound was left on the York Pond trail TH sign |

A CHEESY day in the forest was had. This was my tenth visit to Cabot, Bradygirl's 6th, and CuddlesMcPuffyPants' second (can we just talk for a second how gouda that name is?). I was grateful for the company. We started off bareboot, but when the trail turns up the slope from the old logging road, we put on snowshoes and they remained on until our return to the car. Cheddar safe then sorry on softening trails. Take our curd for it, swiss you could have been out there today, mozzerhella good temps and lowfat winds. Might be the last winter wonderland day of the season. Trails where soft end to end, like a fine cream cheese, we spread it out nicely with our snowshoes. #teamtubbs The trees are caked in an ever thickening glaze of romano like snow from the view point on. The snowpack is deep up there and anyone taller than about 5'3 might find this to be nacho thing. Lots of snowladen branches waiting for yoy. We found the true summit and then made our way out to Patenaude's Perch, this stunning view point is only accessible by bushwhacking. Brie-utiful views that would make your heart melt of the Mahoosuc, Northern Presidentials, C-M, Pemi, Sandwich range and more. Unfortunately we couldnt see into Vermont today with the approaching weather. Feta luck next time on that. How DAIRY you not like these dad jokes? Im feta up with writing these cheesy reports. Ya curd? |
