 | Comments: |
19 Mile Brook was a highway due to previous skiers and snowshoers (thanks!), so I started in spikes. Switched to snowshoes by the lake to ascend up to Carter Dome and kept them on the rest of the day. There were some drifts and some minor postholes by barebooters, but, overall, the trail was well packed and easy to traverse. Had Mt. Hight all to myself under blue skies and no wind - magic. Snow was beginning to get sticky the second half of the day; glad I was able to enjoy winter conditions before it all turns into a slopfest with the upcoming temps. |
