Comments
Comments: Day 124, Peak 104. 3rd hike of the day after Signal Mtn and Garder Ridge - Middle Peak in Lyman. Those two hikes were solo but I had the pleasure of doing this one with a friend local to Plymouth :) Temps were in then high 20s or low 30s by the time we started at 1:30pm and I was happy to be hiking in just a fleece until the summit where I threw on a hardshell for the descent to break the wind.

We hiked up the access road/ski trails to the top of the ski area. Not quite as steep as I might’ve thought but still very thankful for the televators. Though this could be done in spikes, the televatoes on snowshoes will make this much easier. From the top of the ski area, snowshoes are definitely needed though trailbreaking was pretty easy. We headed due west toward the summit from here. A little more complicated than the topos lines on Gaia would suggest. CalTopo shows the other bumps and drainage we had to work through better. We broke out into the open and waded through young growth to the summit. The true high point and register are in the woods NOT where the cairn is (though there are great views from the cairn!). We made our way back down the same way.

3.75mi hike with 1500ft of gain taking 2.5hrs. Nice to run into Jeremy in the parking lot :) 241 more days and 261 more peaks to go…
