Trail is probably 80% blue ice, with the balance being hardpack (and occasional bare ledge up high). Close to full snowpack (apart from tree wells, etc.) remains in the woods.
I wore snowshoes roundtrip, mainly for the traction. I would not feel comfortable descending in Microspikes. Hillsounds would probably be a decent choice.
Snow started after 4 PM this afternoon and was starting to accumulate around dark. |
