Parking on the side of Route 2 next to the Irving gas station was plowed and was about half full at 8:30. Parking at trailhead was unplowed, so the short road walk was necessary. |

Found a dog leash at the trailhead. I hung it on the trail sign. |

Perfect snowshoeing conditions! Saw 8 to 10 other people on the trail, all in snowshoes like me. A couple of icy patches about a half mile below Mt. Starr King, but otherwise the entire trail was nicely packed snow. Still too soon for microspikes or bare-booting. Sadly, no views for us morning/early afternoon hikers today; both peak were completely in the clouds. |
