Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I would not think this a good "dog" hike. Not much water on Pine Link and Howkers. Very rocky and slippery above treeline. Excellent water on Madison Gulf.
Bugs
Bugs: Hopefully now gone with the freeze up north. We had no issues.

Comments
Comments: Semi winter conditions. Temperature about 32 when we started. Clothing fluctuated all morning to find the right mix. When we got above treeline on Howkers Ridge there was rime ice and light snow/ice on everything. Traction (even Yak Traks) would have been too much so it was just slow going and making sure you stepped where the sun had hit. Strong winds on top and more of the snow/ice. Coming down, once off the summit the Osgood trail was in direct sun and no issues.
NH AT Done! Thanks Steve.
