Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a single microspike not far along FWT but caught the owner shortly before the falls who was happy to have it back for that section. There was a single trekking pole at the top of the falls, I left it there in case it was purposely stashed.

Comments
Comments: Solo Franconia Ridge loop on a hot winter afternoon.

Falling Waters, under the mashed potatoe surface the trails were still stable enough not to posthole if staying on track. Snoeshoes could be used to make life easier but everyone was using light traction. Considering the temps today and forecasted tomorrow it will only get less stable. Lots of melting going on today. If a refreeze occurs in the next few days proper traction will be absolutely required. Franconia Ridge was mostly exposed rock with a mix of sections of soft ice, snow, and mud. I barebooted most of it. Spikes back on from the switchback on Greenleaf (that section that is typically an iceflow). There is still some exposed rock from here until shortly before the hut but less prevalent and easy to avoid. From the hut to the parking lot is was more of the same slushy potatoes.

Not as many other hikers as I expected to see. I crossed paths with maybe 25 others with most hanging out at the hut.
