Comments
Comments: Difficult conditions. We spiked all the way with several spots on the ledges where we barefooted because of lack of snow. Warm day, snow melting fast, very unstable and mushy. Not enough snow for snowshoes but sinking in spikes. Lots of bare patches interspersed with snowy patches. Significant icy spots on both trails. Hard to choose the right traction because of the varied conditions on the trail. Unless you’re willing to frequently switch between spikes/snowshoes/crampons, you’ll be miserable some of the time.
