 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I parked where I usually do, at the start of the Class VI portion of Sky Pond Rd., off to the side. When I returned, another vehicle was blocking the road. :/ Best parking is at the adjacent boat launch. |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
I could have sworn the one brook crossing required hopping in the past, but it looks like it's been rebuilt for logging trucks to pass over (I'm assuming). |

I found an orange jacket tied to tree at the ledge on Red Trail. Carried it out. |

 | Comments: |
I hadn't been here in a while, and decided to stop by while on my way home from an appointment in Plymouth. Lots of logging has taken place along the route, but none of it has impacted the trail.
In short, the logging road portions were wet, muddy, and had old snow and ice on them. Traction wasn't really needed. The footpaths were mostly bare, as was the ledge.
From the ledge, I followed the Red Trail (where does this trail go?) about 0.5 mi. down to a very cool narrow gorge and area of cascades. That's as far as I went and retraced my steps back to the car. |
