 | Comments: |
We absolutely picked the perfect day for a traverse. We started in spikes and carried snowshoes. We managed well from the trailhead at Diana’s Bath until Middle Moat because temperature have been cold. The steep ascent from Attitash Tr has a lot of hard ice until you hit the more open areas. Then we were in hard pack snow and bare rock. The challenging descent from North Moat had some areas of hard ice. Once we hit the approach to South Moat the micro spikes came off for the rest of the hike. South Moat was mostly dry all the way down thankfully. This was a pretty demanding hike in many ways but the views were worth every bit of effort. |
