Comments: started up AZ trail and hiked up to Mt. Tom First. The snow was nice and packed down up AZ. Did the loop because I wasn't confident with going up the ladders at this time of the season. Got to Mt Tom Spur and the snow was starting to stick to my spikes. Dropped the bags at the Mt Tom Spur and made good time to Mt. Tom. WIlley Range trail was fast in the morning but on the way back the sun showed itself at Avalon and made the snow potato mush. I wore my spikes to Fields. The snow was sticking to my boots so I bare booted to Willey. Turned around and repeated Willey range to Avalon that's where we saw two other hikers in Spikes and carrying Snowshoes. Avalon was extremely icy. I put my spikes back on for the remainder of the hike down Avalon trail. Moving time for the hike was 4.35 hrs. Happy that the sun showed up at avalon you could see the southern Presi's. The next couple days should be fine with spikes. Couple weeks should start to see those roots around Avalons elevation. In the clouds at Fields and Willey. Good Views at tom. Mt Washington was out of the clouds.
