I made a short direct bushwhack up to the trail to avoid the crossing. Lower trail has a blue ice rail, which quickly becomes substantial. Past Noon Peak, snowshoes are still best. A few spots almost warrant full crampons due to steep, heavy ice flows, but good light traction and snowshoes did the job for me today with care. |
