 | Comments: |
Trails were virtually snow/ice free. Only a few small patches of snow/ice remain, all but one (just before the Turtleback summit; flat and no issue) that can be avoided. Pretty muddy in a few areas, particularly where the trail was recently improved prior to the Bald Knob junction.
Encountered three bears (brief stare down, then they took off together) about halfway between the Bald Knob and Turtleback summit junctions.
Cloudy afternoon with temperatures in the 40s. Still some ice visible on the lake. |
