| Comments: |
Snow/ice started around the Bald Peak Spur. We put on light traction shortly after and took it off at the same spot on the return. Some ice bulges on the trail but the ice is soft and easy to navigate. The trail was quite firm and supportive with a coating of new snow on top along the Kinsman Ridge Tr. Surprisingly, as with other hikes recently, there is no elevated monorail. Just a nice transition from spotty ice to great coverage. Snowshoes could be worn shortly after the snow starts if one desired. Still over two feet at higher elevation.
