Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sarge had no problems navigating the ice going up to North Hancock, he dipped into the woods in a couple of spots to avoid the worst of it. There is a lot of ice so I would strongly suggest only bringing experienced dogs.

Comments
Comments: Bare ground for the first few tenths of a mile, then a mix of ice and packed snow to the split on the Hancock Loop Trail. North link has quite a bit of ice, I wore microspikes and was fine, but hillsounds or crampons would not be an overkill. Between peaks is packed snow and little patches of ice, easy moving. South link has a few ice flows but was much easier than north link, saw another hiker with crampons and ice axe on south link, so wear whatever you feel most comfortable/confident/safest in.

Nice quiet morning out on the trails, Sarge had fun navigating the ice and licking it when he waited for me to catch up!
