Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Met a few nice pups. Trail is good for pups. Odd experience today when we got back to the trailhead. There were a couple of women who had just finished and were asking us if we were missing a dog. We didn’t have any dogs with us today. We leashed up “ Hutch” and tried calling the number on his collar, no answer but left a message . Cell service isn’t the best there. We started to walk back up the road with Hutch, and a few other hikers came out telling us they had met the dog’s humans about 2 miles up the trail. Not wanting to rehike the hike, my friend who lives in the same town as the dog’s rabies tags indicated, took him with her to bring to their local humane society. We didn’t feel great about leaving the pup loose in the parking area or tied up. I’m sure they will be reunited but it got us thinking , who leaves their dog alone roaming the parking area? He was such a good boy!

Comments
Comments: Beautiful day to hit up Moosilauke and the South peak. Roadwalk is clear of snow and ice. Patchy ice and snow started right away on gorge Brook trail. We put spikes on just before the junction with snapper trail, took them off approaching the summit cone( bare rock) , put them back on while on the ridge to South peak. Kept them on until just before the last bridge crossing. Views for miles, not a lot of wind , a great April version of Moose. Snow was still pretty supportive. Monorail just barely appearing on the ridge. Get it now!
