| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Couple trees about 0.4 mile in on hi cannon that could use an axe. Hi cannon trail has very few blazes. There was another trip report from last week mentioning the same. Fresh blazing would be nice. I don’t know if this trail has an adopter currently, if so, I would happily help out with the blazing. |

Quiet day on this route and summit. I think I saw under 8 people total. Spring conditions down low, mostly bare ground. Then I put on my hillsounds about 0.4 mile in on hi cannon. Some ice / monorail was there under the light coating of fresh powder from last night. Snow got deeper, maybe 3 inches of new snow on top of solid packed snow. There were a few deep postholes off to the side of the trail, totally avoidable. I was glad to have sharp spikes especially on the descent. Snow did get sticky and started balling up on my spikes as the day went on. All and all, decent conditions for April. Happy Easter all! |
