Gorgeous day. Bare booted Crawford Connector. Trail Crampons to Pierce. Barebooted from Pierce to Eisenhower and back. Barebooted from Pierce to the tricky descent above Mizpah Hut before switching to full crampons and keeping them on to Jackson and back down to Crawford Notch. The Webster cliff trail from Jackson down to 302 is slushy above 3000' and solid ice from 3000' to 2000'. But the big news is that there's a beaver lodge on the east side of Saco Lake. Never saw that before. Shout out to Suzanne Perry - nice to meet you on Ike. |
