Trail Maintenance Notes: Three blowdowns on Anna Blue Trail on the south side of Old Stage Road. Anna Blue Trail has usual perks.

Comments
Comments: Spring clean up/check in time! Recent trip reports from users traversing the ridge reignited the flame for the old gal. Met up with Nordic gal to clean out water bars, look for blow downs, taking the summit junipers, and lop pesky saplings. Within the last few years, the BRATTS changed all of the trail names to correspond with the colors used for blazing. Forgive me if you know the original names, and I confuse you. I’m still learning to call them “red” “blue” “yellow” etc.

We did a big loop from Alton Mtn Road lot, starting the loop at the Anna (Red) Trail. I love this trail! A lot of cool stuff along the way. Cellar holes, waterfalls, caves! Worked (literally) our way to the summit, hit the true summit and started the trip to the outlook via the Anna Blue trail. We walked the Anna Blue trail out to Old Stage Road, and decided to continue on, crossing the corridor. The Anna Blue trail south of Old Stage has rolling terrain that brings you to a fantastic outlook over one of the ponds. We took this trail all the way to the junction with Goat Pasture Hill trail. After our leisurely stroll on the blue trail, we resumed trail working as we climbed up and over Goat Pasture Hill cleaning, taming and lopping away. This trail is another one of my favorites (Forgive my bias!). Beautiful ridge walk, and convenient look out to Straightback. We continued all the way along this red trail until we were back to Old Stage Road; we headed back to the car for beer and yummy lemon blueberry cookies.

These trails are clear and ready for all to enjoy!
