multiple and very manageable crossings through the first half |

one big pine tree in the waterfall area -- requires maneuvering around |

Our dogs did great all the way to the blustery peak; met some others along the way. Dogs should be confident on ice and steep rock steps |

| Comments: |
microspikes are essential for the long ice sections around the waterfalls in the first section, very helpful on the slushy snow/ice on the switchbacks. And boots too! -- saw a lot of people in hiking sneakers, but it was cold enough to get very uncomfortable in wet feet. |
