| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
We were very surprised to see as many blow downs as we did on the later parts of LW and early parts of BC trail. We sawed up a handful of them but the trail is a bit of a mess. Everything easily passable though. |

What a fantastic day for the Bonds, just absolutely perfect. As I stated, the trail was quite messy towards the lower elevations and needs a bit of work. Was able to bareboot until about 3k feet, then we slipped on the spikes until the summit of Bondcliff, where we met a nice lady and her pup! She was the only other person doing the Bonds from LW today, besides my partner and I. We kept the spikes off for the ridge to Bond. We probably could’ve thrown them back on for the last 300’-400’ but we were able to summit with minor slippage. We could’ve stayed up there all day with no wind and sunny skies. We kept the spikes off until just below the summit of Bondcliff, then re-spiked until the snow and ice stopped. Overall the trail conditions were much more favorable than I expected! |
