Comments
Comments: livermore was clear and mostly dry to scaur. scaur was clear until about halfway then it was monorail (stable) which transitioned to all snow. stable all the way to junction. I used spikes starting at the monorail. spikes were fine all the way to south. there are definitely some interesting ice flows but judicious use of trees made it passable with spikes. also there were were frozen steps from previous hikers when it was warmer. the snow was completely gone on south slide. so it became spikes on/ spikes off as there was snow/ice in the trees and completely clear on the open slide. the climb down portion is ice free so that made that easy. once off the slide there was patchy snow for a bit then it cleared. spikes could finally come off again for good. the section of trail to Livermore was great as usual. doing the loop seemed like a good choice given the slide was clear.
