| Comments: |
Bare-booted to the split in the Hancock Loop Trail, then crampons for the loop. Went clockwise. Very icy, but the ice was grippy today with crampons. The descent from South Hancock was a breeze with crampons. There is still a couple of feet of snow at the summits and between, but the base is solid.
Counted maybe 20 people on the trail today. Some woefully underprepared for the conditions. It is still winter at elevation. |
