Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Left 2 cars at Wood Rd. parking lot for the traverse. This is an extremely small lot enclosed by carefully placed boulders which limit the lot to 5 numbered spaces. Not recommended for large & long vehicles. It may be necessary to back into the lot to a parking space. Parking on the access roads is prohibited. When we finished the traverse the lot was full. Did see some cars on the side of Rt. 11a near Bickford Rd which connects to Wood Rd. Reed Road parking area can hold close to 20 cars. Parking along Reed Road is prohibited.

Comments
Comments: This was a great traverse hike sponsored by the AMC Southeast Mass. chapter. Two cars to accommodate the 10 participants were left at the Wood Road parking lot. Participants were encouraged to carpool given the limited parking at both lots. This was an exploratory hike for the group. We briefly lost the trail in a couple places as noted above. The weather couldn’t have been better. Much variety of terrain – woods with a mix of vegetation and trees, rock scrambles up and down, ledges, and several long distance views along the ridge. Round Pond is a real gem. Hike was 7.6 miles, ascent: 2050 feet.
