Arrived at 7:45, thinking we'd have to wait for fish hatchery gate to trailhead to open. It was open when we got there. We were first car. We left at 3pm, three other cars in lot. |

Many small stream crossing - so pretty!
One significant stream early on, required getting boots in water 1", rock-hopping across five or six rocks. |

Few pretty moths and annoying flies at the bottom in the afternoon - nothing that wanted to munch on us. |

Trail alternated dry, mud, rocks on the lower sections. So many tiny brook crossings I lost count! Snowy sections, icy sections with limited monorail, past Kilkenny junction. After Bunnell Rock, more significant packed snow on trail with occasional post-holing on the soft edges. Microspikes were ideal. |
