Gorgeous, HOT day in the southern Presis. Saw surprisingly few people out despite the crazy number of cars parked at the depot. Spikes went on just beyond the mizpah cutoff junction and came off just past the junction to Pierce summit. Bare boots to Eisenhower, back to Pierce, and over to Jackson. The trail between Mizpah hut and Jackson is deteriorating rapidly, but held up surprisingly well with not too much slipping and sliding. Spikes back on after Jackson to about 1 mile below. Watched Mizpah get it's annual food delivery via helicopter and saw the cash when we stopped in for water. They're going to be almost full tomorrow night! Crazy! |
