 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
If you have a low clearance vehicle, keep an eye out for potholes on Zealand Rd. There’s a poop-ton of them and many of them sneak up on you at the last second - and they are in clusters. |
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Unstable) |
 | Recommended Equipment: |
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
All easily rock hoppable, even the ones above the hut. |
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
4 large diameter straddle over blowdowns within the first mile. 3 of those are at the 0.9 mile mark. 12”+ in diameter. They are laying across the trail just inches above the ground. Other than that there are several small diameter (about 4-5” diameter) leaners and/or partially blocking the path along Twinway between Zeacliff and Zealand Spur. |
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw a few happy ones. Left my misfit at home because she hiked yesterday. |
 | Bugs: |
Black flies, everywhere. |

 | Comments: |
Quick (for me) out and back to Zealand summit today. Trails free of ice and snow until about 1/2 mile before the Zealand Spur and then just brief sections of short lengths of decaying monorail. Longest section maybe 50 feet. Predominantly wet trail otherwise. |
