| Comments: |
We'd intended to follow CEM's post about the Mt Shaw/Italian/Black Snout/Big Ball trail circuit from Wednesday, but upon reading two guides saying that it crossed private lands and should be accessed only with landowner permission, we stuck to the 52WAV guide's recommended trail - which is different from the Southern NH AMC Guide recommendation (that we'd done before). It was great. Only saw four other parties all day. Yeah it was hot but not unbearable with the canopy of trees across wide, easily mounted trails with occasional breeze. Minimal mud. Haze at the summit made the view mostly a silhouette but still it's a fabulous perch on a beautiful scene. |
