| Comments: |
Beautiful, blustery day on Franconia Ridge! Spring is finally here—I carried spikes but never used—and the only ice on the trail was in a couple small spots near or above Shining Rock. Strong gusts and chilly conditions in the morning. At least until around noon, it was incredibly quiet up on the ridge, but the crowds came later. Trails are still pretty wet below treeline, with a couple tricky scrambles going down Old Bridle Path. |
