Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Norway Rapids was too dangerous to cross. You must walk through Slide Brook on Boulder path; no rocks for you to hope. Great choice for a hot day!
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There are several blowdowns in various places. New signs and old signs, all are easily read. Thank you! Mileage on new sign near the logging road bridge seems to be off (looks like the figure for the distance between the parking lot and the bridge is more than it actually is). Good signage, nonetheless.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Good for dogs, please respect Waterville Valley's rules concerning them.
Bugs
Bugs: Some blackflies, wind kept them at bay most of the time.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Saw a small pink fleece jacket on a stump off the Livermore Trail.

Comments
Comments: Good choice for a hot afternoon. Livermore Trail is good for flower lovers this time of year. Still some painted trillium and many violets, including ones with stripes. A few red trillium as well. Took the short beginning of the Boulder Path down to the water, then turned back to the Livermore Trail. Did the same with the Norway Rapids Trail; too "rapid" to cross. But we did enjoy the looking at the water. Unfortunately, this was a hotspot for black flies. Took the logging road thinking we would go down a path with beautiful waterfalls (which we had done several years ago), but instead took a ski trail down to where it met the other side of the Norway Rapids Trail. We took that portion to the rapids and enjoyed a rest and some snacks without the blackflies. Took ski trail to Boulder Path, which also seemed different than it did several years ago. Looks like it has been rerouted to avoid all that muck that I remember. Put on my Tevas to cross. Prema's were in the car, so she barefooted. She found it painfully cold, I found it refreshing. Good choice for a hot day!

The waterfalls I remember are on the Cascade Path.
