Comments
Comments: Second training hike of the season( 1st hike was the North and South Peaks in Pawtuckaway State Forest). As usual I did Mt Percival and Mt Morgan in a counterclockwise direction. I prefer to ascend the rock scrambles up high on Mt. Percival rather than descend them. Going counterclockwise also gives me the summit of Mt Percival to myself(most hikers are on Mt Morgan or coming from there). Also ended up having Mt Morgan to myself which was unusual. I find the scenery from Mt Percival a little better due to the views North( Sandwich Dome, Mt Whiteface, Mt Chocurua, etc). Both mountains will give you incredible views of Squam Lakes, the Ossipee's, the Belnap's, etc. At only 5 plus miles this hike give you a lot of bang for your buck.
