| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking at either lot. Get there early on the weekends though as both are used for more than just this hike. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |

|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
You are getting wet, there is no choice. 10 water crossings up Sabbaday, 16 down Downes. We both wore trail runners and they drained nicely, despite getting my feet wet at mile 1 the next 14 miles weren't bad with wet feet once we got used to it. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
BLOWDOWN CITY!!!! Over them, under them, around them, confused at them. The Kate Sleeper Trail is so well maintained despite feeling so remote though. Downes Brook was sometimes hard to follow with the blowdowns and while they were difficult it added character. Nothing impassible for the determined though! :) |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
No dogs :( |
|
| Bugs: |
Most annoying bugs ever on the last 2 miles of Downes Brook. You're gonna wanna bring the once a year strong bug spray that you legally shouldn't be allowed to inhale. |
|
| Lost and Found: |
Yeah. To the people who left their beer cans at the top of the Kate Sleeper Trail in your fire pit come back and get it! Too sharp for me to carry out without gloves & a thick bag sadly. |

| Comments: |
Only saw one person all day which is sort of what we were looking for. I imagine this would be a great place to spot some moose, however we only saw hints of them and never caught a glimpse. Really enjoyed this off the beaten path hike.
