Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: WJT below the split is in decent shape, few patches of significant hurricane erosion but all easy to get around. No major issues that I can recall on Webster branch of WJT. Webster Cliff between the junction and Mt. Jackson in very good shape - no major washout areas from the hurricane, just a few very minor areas of erosion. Found a few unusually large mud pits for the section that we tried to create outlets for. Jackson branch of WJT, as usual, needs plenty of love, especially after the hurricane - some good sized areas with big exposed roots across the entire width of the trail, some deep pits of significant erosion, lots of standing water, and one section that requires stepping on large roots to avoid several deep puddles between - yuck. WJT below the split and Jackson branch need serious drainage ditch work - cleaning existing ones and creating new ones in needed areas.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Hannah had an easy day "supervising" - enough water throughout the day and lots of shade.

Comments
Comments: Trail maintenance day - lots of brushing, cleaning drainage ditches and creating new ditches on Webster Cliff Trail. Saw a fair number of people and a few other dogs, though I figured we'd see many more with the long weekend and good weather. Spent several hours on the ridge and made it out just as it was getting dark. Great day for trail maintenance - sunny skies and warm temps, though wind was blowing good above the trees. Certainly much better weather than the ice and snow I've encountered on my October maintenance trips the last few years!
