Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No problems.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail is generally in great shape. A few blowdowns, but all easily surmounted.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw several pooches with their owners. All friendly, as were there owners. Excepting for 2 bearded 20-something trailrunners who appearred to care less about anyone else around them at the last unbridged stream crossing. Their doggie immediately jumped in the stream to cool itself; they had some difficulty convincing their pooch to leave the comforts of his river spa.
Bugs
Bugs: Not bad on the way up. On the way down, apparently the black flies and other flying fauna had had their coffee and were looking for a hiker meal.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nada. Nothing to report here.

Comments
Comments: We arrived at approx 7:45am. Two spots left in the lot; we grabbed 1. By the time we disembarked and began unloading packs, several other vehicles began arriving. We were lucky to have snagged a spot. On our return at around 12:30pm, there was 1 spot open and a spot along entrance way open. Noticed maybe 15 more vehicles on Mt Clinton road, while departing.

Great day on the mountain! Partly sunny. A light breeze. Our group of three was surprised to be alone on the summit until a group of 3 30-something ladies arrived on a multi-day hike over the presies. They glowed that today was a far better day than yesterday when they contended with rain, 60 mph winds and no view. They, like us were grateful for a beautiful day.

Saw many other couples, groups of young women sporting blue 48 peaks or some such tee-shirts that day. Some were hiking the presie traverse. Others a couple peaks. And some just Ike like us.
The mood on the trail and mountain was good. People were having a good day.
