 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Lot on Mt Clinton Rd was over half full at 8:30, had a few more at 2pm plus one or more along the road. |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Lower crossing no problem, as water was fairly low. Watch out for one teetering boulder there. The upper "crossing" is hardly that, being just runoff crossing the rocks on the trail. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail is in good shape. There are a couple of stepover blowdowns, and one that is a "close" stepover or, for kids, an easy enough straddle-over; it has been limbed where it crosses the trail. Halfway up there was a small birch blowdown blocking the trail, with roots partially in the ground and the top stuck in a group of trees. I used the foldup saw to cut the top, then swung the trunk off to the side. However, there has been a lot of traffic bypassing that spot, which ought to be blocked off with something. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw one, well behaved, and on leash. |
|
 | Bugs: |
There were a few out, but not a big problem. Black flies were out more so back at the cars, but not too bad. |

 | Comments: |
Nice day for the hike, with great views, and clouds clipping tops of Washington and northern Presidentials. Up out of the trees the wind was quite strong and chilling. We layered up for the trip up top and back into the trees. I suspected some of the hikers going up as we descended were going to be very uncomfortable up there. |
