Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Head-in spots filled at 6:25 a.m., I was the 3rd to park parallel to Rte 2. When I left at 2 pm the lot was full and folks spilled over onto Rte 2.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No issues, all streams/brooks low and rock hoppable.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Blowdowns on Airline at 1.6, 1.85, 1.9, 1.92, 2.05 miles. People are eroding herd paths around all except the last one which is a walk-under. Diameters range from 4-10”. One branchy blowdown on VW about 9/10ths below the hut. It has been trimmed a bit but is still blocking the path causing folks to erode a path around it.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Some water available within the first mile on Airline but the streams were very low. Not sure how reliable it will be. If ascending that way you may want to bring water for your dog. VW had plenty of running water here and there.
Bugs
Bugs: They are still out and hungry.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: n/a
