Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The Ferncroft lot is the most beautiful trailhead parking area, in my opinion. We arrived at 8:15am and had no trouble parking. The expanding lot is all pull in parking. When we arrived back in the afternoon, it appeared the lot got full.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The one crossing on Dicey’s Mill Trail still has a big log going across that you could use like a balance beam, or you could rock hop today.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A couple of blowdowns on the loop up to Passaconaway. One was a minor stepover. The other was a tree leaning across the trail that has been there for a number of seasons now. The ledges just below the Whiteface summit could use a few blazes to help guide the way, though I think it’s in a wilderness area so not sure if that’s allowed.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a few pups out having a great day!

Comments
Comments: Trails are in great shape! This was a perfect hike to do today given the weather further north. Dry conditions on the ledges heading up to Whiteface. The Whiteface summit was in the clouds, but once we descended towards Passaconaway, we quickly were out of that. Passaconaway summit was a bit of the same. Leaving the summit of Passaconaway, the sun came out and blue skies were working their way into the mix. It was windy today, but no rain that we experienced.. just some very fine water drops on occasion.

Trails were relatively dry other than some short areas of running water on the trail up to Passaconaway.

If you’re in need of ice cream after your hike, definitely drive down to the North Sandwich Store for some delicious varieties from Sandwich Creamery! It’s all self serve pints, half pints, and quarts, but they take cash and Venmo!
