Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Wednesday, June 22, 2022
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Road was being graded today
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Easy rock hops
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A couple blow downs, but they have been limbed and easy (maybe scary though) to walk under
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Good water sources at 1 and 1.3 miles in. They were smaller streams running today higher up, but they look like seasonal ones that dry up in the summer. Easy trail for dogs. One dog joined me on the tip top of the summit, the other tried to jump up, failed, and then found something else to do.
Bugs
Bugs: Swallowed one fly down low, got bit by one deer fly, but the wind kept everything else away
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Painted rock on top

Comments
Comments: Cool, overcast, breezy day perfect for my fuzzy pups. It started to sprinkle just as I was returning to my car.

Thanks to my fellow hikers who left my cell phone right where I left it (on the hood of my car). I discovered it was missing four miles into the hike, and realized I had no memory of putting it into my beg. Mom brain is real. I was relieved to find it. And it made me take some extra time at the summit to just stare into the wilderness, instead of taking pictures.
