Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail portions were clear; snowmobile portion reminded me of how young the Cohos trail still is as this part was ‘shaved trail’, basically grass covered making it sometimes easier to hike the drainage ditches.

Comments: Walked through the camping area to campsite 11 next to a cabin. Started down snowmobile road, taking a left onto the Tumbledick Trail portion of the CT. This soon dropped us back onto the snowmobile trail. Moderate grade for about 2 miles to where the CT turned left into the woods. We hiked to a point directly below the peak and started our bushwhack. Pretty overgrown with lots of fern and hobblebush. Went straight to the canister! Signed in and took a heading directly to Sugar Hill instead of dropping down to the CT. Crossed the snowmobile trail and bushwhacked up to the summit area: woods were much more open on this side. Mostly moderate with a short steep climb at the end. Came out on the snowmobile road and followed it to the summit. Searched everywhere but never located the canister. Gaia kept ‘changing its mind’ so we just looked all along the ridge as well as herd paths to other high bumps: no luck! After 30 minutes, we headed down the snowmobile road which was a long slog to the col. Glad we bushwhacked up. The rest was a reverse of how we got there.
