Comments
Comments: Started out by walking up the edge of the field to its highest point then cut into the woods. Moderate climb through pretty messy woods: a fair amount of sticks and various blowdowns but a lot less hobblebush than we have been seeing. Flattens out at about .1 mile. Now we alternated between blowdowns and high grass and some kind of prickly stuff (raspberries.). Reached the summit ‘bump’ then spent close to 30 minutes searching for the jar! Kept circling the huge blowdown mentioned by Liam, looking in every fir tree we could find. After almost giving up, re-entered an area we had already been through several times and caught a glimmer of glass! Yahoo! Signed in, slapped some orange tape on the jar and headed back down to the car. Gaia said we’d managed to turn a .5 mile hike into a .75 mile hike with all the back and forth avoiding blowdowns plus searching for the jar!
