Comments
Comments: Started up the overgrown logging road following a moose path. At the first intersection, we took a right heading straight at the peak. The logging road was high grass and raspberries. It ended at a VERY thick section that we just soldiered through hoping to soon reach the woods we could see above us. This was some of the thickest stuff we’ve been through in awhile, mostly some sort of new growth that wasn’t hobblebush. Finally popped out ( it probably wasn’t as long as it felt!) in a wooded area and started to climb steeply up towards the peak. Came to a logging road bordered with fallen trees; had to climb over them as there was no way around. Then back to steeply climb through fairly open woods. Came upon the pink tagged trail Beth Z had found which we followed to a big logging area. Decided to head straight up through the woods instead so up we continued! At the height of land, we found ourselves on a flat fern-covered summit and made our way right to the jar, high up on a tree. Signed in and headed back the way we came. Spied another pink tag so decided to follow the trail. Came out on the opposite side of the logging area, far from our original tracks, so cut across and got back into the woods once again. Down we went to where we had seen the first set of tags and picked up the trail. Unfortunately, it lead us into a wet overgrown area so we abandoned it and headed back to our original path which we followed to the car, again crashing our way through that section of new growth! Always an adventure!
