Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: 1st crossing I waded, maybe knee deep at highest. All others rock hops. Levels low but flowing
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Good shape, many blowdowns but nothing difficult. 1 big one about 1/3rd mile from start of LBT, that probably the worst.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw 1, long day but plenty of water
Bugs
Bugs: If you stopped when the breeze did brutal mosquitos. Black flies on summit. Both biting. I was expecting worse.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Wash cloth hanging on tree FBT, gone later.

Comments
Comments: Many out to get the Owl today. I opted for the traditional way, but came down Brutus. Most I’ve seen on these trails. Still lots of solitude & beautiful river views. Muddy in all the usual places. Only my 3rd time this way but this is a favorite hike. Flat fast trails, river crossings, plenty of spots to hang at rivers edge, then fun soul crushing climb! Only 1 other on top. We chatted had lunch & a beer. Nice meeting you Sam! Took a dip at last crossing on way out while refilling my water. Perfect weather for this hike. Finished my 4th round today!
