Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Suprisingly plenty of parking at Rocky Branch on a holiday weekend Sunday at 8am when we dropped our carspot. Parking at Glen Ellis was busy at 8:30 but able to find spots as folks are coming and going. Would be possible to park at Pinkham Notch and add <1mi to the hike in a pinch if full.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant

Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: 5 major crossings on Rocky Branch, all manageably rock-hoppable, one with a sturdy and convenient log.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Good amount of blowdowns on Isolation trail between Davis Path and Rocky Branch, but all easily stepped over. Chatted with a ranger going up Glen Boulder who shared that they are actively problem-solving the mud problems on Rocky Branch and several possible solutions are in the works (timeline unknown).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Some swarms in the wooded & boggy areas, not terrible and not biting. Strong winds helped.

Comments
Comments: Glen Boulder Trail is in great shape, fun scrambles. Wildflowers were fantastic above treeline. Davis Path has a bit of mud but all very manageable with some rock hopping. Decent amount of blowdowns, mud, and standing water on Isolation Trail between Davis and Rocky Branch but easily managed with careful steps. Rocky Branch is notorious for its horrible mud but we were able to rock-hop this as well and kept our feet relatively dry - no knee-deep mud to speak of today! The dry spring/early summer has been good for trail conditions that way. River crossings all fine at this time, felt good to put the feet in but with careful steps, easily crossed with dry feet.
