Comments
Comments: Figured that the hike of Mt Tecumseh would be a good choice today due to the availability of parking in the ski area lot on the holiday.
No mud. Surfaces are dry. Rock steps provide sure footing.
Ascended the Mt Tecumseh summit cone via the Mt Tecumseh Trail (right at fork in the trail) and descended using the Sosman Trail. The side path to a south outlook off the Sosman Trail below the summit is well trodden and provides views of Sandwich Dome and Welch and Dickey Mountains as well as the ski area. Followed the Sosman Trail over to the top of the ski area. There are two nice viewpoints on the Sosman Trail with one having a bench.
Lots of hikers out today. One was a barber from Albany NY who has hiked all the Catskills, Adirondacks, and Green Mountains. Many first-time hikers of this mountain.
