Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Either bridged or easy crossing on rocks. Water levels low.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in good condition. There were a couple of trees across the Nineteen Mile Brook Trail well above the ground so there is no problem walking below them. The second three log bridge above the junction with the Carter Dome Trail on the Nineteen Mile Brook Trail has one intact log and two damaged logs. Nevertheless, the crossing is still easy. The rock stairs on the Wildcat Ridge Trail ascending out of Carter Notch are amazing. Controls erosion and provides excellent footing. There is one humongous boulder downhill from the trail. Not sure if the trail crew somehow moved the behemoth or if it slid off. Most bog bridges in good condition.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Fine for dogs. No water on the Wildcat Ridge Trail.
Bugs
Bugs: very few. Not bothersome.

Comments
Comments: Conditions are dry. The most mud was the section near the trailhead.
Great views of the eastern ravines of Mt Washington as well as Mt Adams and Mt Madison. Good view of Carter Notch from Wildcat A.
The ski lift was not operating today.
Lots of hikers today. Most were either AT thru hikers or hikers coming up from Pinkham Notch/Glen Ellis.
