 | Recommended Equipment: |

|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
2 creeks on The Link had water, and both were easy enough to cross |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The Link was... passable, but also quite overgrown in areas. I would describe it as a light bushwhack where you don't have to navigate too much. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Our pup was a trooper. The Link has one spot that is not passable, and we had to lift her while balanced on a ledge. The trails above treeline are 97% rock that is very very rough. We had to lift her at a few points on Caps Ridge too. I do not recommend these trail except for very capable dogs who are light enough to be lifted. |
|
 | Bugs: |
A few biting gnats at times, but no major issues. Didn't even apply the bug spray we brought. |

 | Comments: |
What a day, absolutely perfect summer conditions. Mild, low humidity, steady gentle breeze, mix of clouds and sun. The trails and mountains were amazing, and very rough. The toughest 5 mile hike I know. We decided not to summit Jefferson and took the Cornice Trail to cut mileage and vert for the sake of our pup. |
