Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking at Lincoln Woods was surprisingly easy for a weekend with superlative weather. That said, I saw a few people had parked on the grass (where they shouldn't) and the Forest Service left them "love notes" that they'll have to deal with. Obviously, don't be that guy.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Getting from the Bondcliff trail over to the Wilderness/Pemi East Side trails will involve fording the Pemi. Obviously, you're off-trail at that point. No bridge, no stepping stones, and expect water to be at least knee-high, if not deeper. Current was a bit faster than I'd have wanted, making precise foot placement tricky. Beware and be careful.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Most of the trail is in great shape. There are a few spots where blow-downs haven't been managed yet. Besides those few areas, it's smooth sailing.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Several pups out having the time of their lives. Many happily wagging tails just about everywhere.
Bugs
Bugs: Yes. That said, the wind took care of a lot of the problem. In the tent sites, it got a little more buggy, but not much more than a mere annoyance.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: I spotted a yellow sack of tent poles hanging from a branch on the Twinway as I headed out to Zealand. On my way back to South Twin, I saw an AT hiker had grabbed them, intending to drop them off at the Zealand Hut. If they're yours, that's where you might start to look.

Comments
Comments: Third time hiking the Pemi Loop. Gets better each time. Three days/two nights, camped at Garfield and Guyot tent sites. Hiked up the Osseo Trail, enjoyed wonderful weather and expansive views from Flume. Hiked over to Lafayette, and spotted a pair of ravens hanging around. Sunset happened around the time I got to Garfield, and afterward, the stars stretched into infinity. Saturday, made my way over to Galehead, the Twins, and then Zealand. At the hut, had some blueberry quick bread that was more blueberry than bread. Not a bad thing! Sunday, more limitless views from the Bonds, and spotted a great spangled fritillary butterfly near the summit of Bondcliff. Hiked out Bondcliff trail to the demolished railway bridge, then made my way over to the river and crossed to the other side. Came out via Wilderness and East Side trails. The views of Franconia Ridge from over there is quite nice indeed, and a great way to head out. By the end of it all, I was exhausted, but wow, it was a much needed escape from the grind.

Photos and a more detailed report are on my blog, as always.
