Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: LOTS of water crossings on Castle Ravine, some of them a little challenging even in these low water conditions. I ended up bushwhacking up or downstream for a couple of them to find better spots to cross. The crossings are very well marked with little RMC "Path" signs so watch for them. If you can't find where the trail goes, you probably need to cross the river again!
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Castle Ravine and Castle are in great shape overall. Castle between the Cornice and the Link has 2-3 blowdowns that are not large but are spiky and already have very established bypasses around them. No brushing issues aside from the powerline right of way at the beginning of the hike which is extremely grown in. Cairns are sufficient on both trails.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I don't think either Castle Ravine or Castle would be easy for dogs. Castle Ravine has steep rock-hopping and ravine headwall climbing while Castle has a couple of tough scrambles.
Bugs
Bugs: Lots of black flies everywhere today (not much wind)
