Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in great shape. Even the herd path to Mt Blue was easy to follow.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Coop is recovering at home, hence I decided to take this route to the summits w/o him. I would be cautious about bringing a dog up this trail due the frequent wooden steps and the slick trail conditions during the climb up the cascades; even a dog with experience. Other routes are much better. That said, I only saw one very polite pup at the summit (came up another route), so he got cookies....

Bugs: No problems

Comments
Comments: First time taking this route to the summit, plus a chance to bag Mt Blue.

The cascades are really enjoyable for the first and steepest section of the hike. I am so thankful to the trail maintenance crew for all great bridges and wooden steps heading up the cascades. remaining trail was as expected.

Herd path to the summit of Mt Blue was easy to locate (there is a frayed log across the entrance trail) and super easy to follow (only minor brushing hiding the path in a few spots). I searched around the summit where there are multiple paths, but could not locate a canister. Still got there.
